As a recent visitor and viewer to Roma, Florenza, and Venezia I appreciated the opportunity to review this Website to help recall and study the works in greater detail. Although it is no substitute for seeing the original works it aids in the effort necessary to fully appreciate these works. I feel I am still sometime away from fully appreciating and understanding the many subtleties of these works. Thanks for you time and efforts in developing and maintaining this Website. Steven A. Lopez, SALOPEZ1@MSN.COM |
I am doing research for a dissertation on Saint Clare and your website has given me some interesting leads! Thank you! When in Rome in December, 1996 I literally just missed getting into the Sistine Chapel by 5 minutes ('should've read the guidebook more closely to see the Chapel wasn't open all day). I've been a little heartsick ever since, but it's a wonderful excuse to go back to Rome though! With the web-tour of it, I shall savor every second there and be far more knowledgable. Multo grazie!!!! AnneMarie Lowell, AMLowell@aol.com |

I have been to the Vatican on several occasions and to the Sistine Chapel a few times. I have always returned with such great admiration over the work of Art preserved at the Vatican. Thank you for having the wealth of art available for people who will not have the chance to visit Vatican during their life time. With the stress on Information Technology today and the desire of the Church to extend its mission to promote the faith through new forms of evangelisation through the media, the Church would do well to extend its influence not only in European setting but also in other countries in Asia and Africa. I saw the Sistine for the first time in the '60's when it appeared dank and dark due to aging of the frescoes. Was fortunate to visit again a couple of times in the '80's while restoration was taking place. At that time I got an idea of how much brighter the inside would be once completed. Now to see the completed project, it's more glorious than I ever would have imagined. You've made me realize I must return to see it again. You have done a magnificent job in bringing the beauty and artworks of the Vatican to the populace who might otherwise never see it. Thank you so sincerely. Judy Moreau, bouymom@alaska.net |

This is a fabulous web site! Thank you for putting so much effort into something that is so hard to find information on. I'm a 17 year old high school student currently studying pre-Renaissance art history (mainly Giotto and Duccio). It was great to see that you had Giotto's No. 31 Scenes from the Life of Christ: Kiss of Judas however it was dissapointing to find that you didn't have Duccio's version of this painting as I have to write an essay comparing the two painting and have not been able to find the Duccio version. Apart from that this site is awesome... keep up the good work - You surpass all the other art history websites I could find. Thank You. Tara Morton. Tara Morton, bht@xtra.co.nz, - |

The information received via internet is greatly appreciated and adorned. Although intrest in the subject was promoted by lessons to be accomplished in school, a great admiration has been bestowed upon me from simply viewing these transmitted images. Obviosly the great works adorned here perpetuate the everlasting gift of the arts that Michaelangelo so thoughtfully passed onto generations. The day is anticipated when I myself shall view these great arts in person, yet for the mean time the web page has satisfied a yurning. Thank you, Darrell J. Whited D.J. This website has offered alot to me. Thinking I would find absolutly nothing on many wonderful yet practically unknown artists, I was soon corrected for I found many of the artists and their work I so much enjoy. Thank-you. Jessica Newton |
My paper is due tomorrow morning! I've been searching for information on many artits and I didn't find too much to chose from. This was a last minute miracle which I will use again and again for further research and pure pleasure. THANK YOU!! Hilary Woessner, Cootsrule@aol.com |
