The relief, the frieze of mourning acolytes, is a fragment of the monument (now dismembered) to Cardinal Annibaldi della Molara in Rome. It has a "cosmati" background. The attribution to Arnoldo is on stylistic grounds. The relief is typical in its overall simplification of the draperies, and their particular round jowly type of face with small, rather pig eyes.
