Eve

1524
Oil on panel, 208 x 83,5 cm
Szépművészeti Múzeum, Budapest

The painting represents the life-size figure of Eve from the scene of the Fall. The companion-piece showing Adam is also in the same museum. The two panels belonged to a group of four panels containing nude figures, the other two being Venus and Cupid (Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller, Otterlo) and Judith (Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg).

The artist created a strong contrast between the figures Adam and Eve. The paintings show the influence of Dürer.
