The two panels representing the Adoration of the Magi and the Two Wise Men belonged to the same altarpiece. Two other panels of the altarpiece representing Sts Peter and Paul are in the Valladolid museum.
The painting was executed after the Italian journey of the artist. The style is Renaissance in spite of the painted Gothic 'fake' framing.
