Abraham van Calraet was Aelbert Cuyp's principal seventeenth follower. Confusion between the two is compounded by the signature 'A.C.' found on van Calraet's views of Dordrecht, pictures of horsemen, and still-lifes; it is sometimes erroneously accepted as Aelbert Cuyp's own monogram. Reproduction courtesy of Bernard Huyvaert's Dutch 17th century. | |
