Pine Trees (Inside the Asylum Walls)

This drawing shows familiar ground, as the artist had worked on the trees in the asylum garden early in the summer of 1889. Van Gogh entered the asylum at Saint-Rémy in May 1889 as a third-class voluntary patient.
