Crucifix

This unsigned painting, originating from the church of St Mark in Cortona, is an early work from the period 1315-20 when Lorenzetti created many works in Cortona. Christ is here represented just as he is drawing his last breath. On the sides the Virgin and St John are represented.

The painting is cut at the bottom, it was perhaps held by a pedestal.
