Hercules and Deianira

c. 1530
Woodcut, 258 x 171 mm
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

This woodcut was produced after the painting by Jan Gossart. The scene was probably intended to represent one of the final episodes in the story of Hercules, in which Deianira unwittingly poisons her husband with the tunic of Nessus.
