(b. ca. 1594, London, d. 1647, Isleworth)
Portrait of a Young Gentlemanc. 1620
Watercolour and bodycolour on vellum, 37 x 29 mm
This miniature has traditionally been identified as depicting a member of the Egerton family. The most high-profile figure from that family was Thomas Egerton, 1st Viscount Brackley, who served as Lord Chancellor between 1593 and 1617. The miniature probably depicts one of his sons.
