In Raphael's workshop an enormous modello was created for the fresco in the Sala di Constantino. The modello composed of six drawings that set out the compositions for the walls of the Battle and Vision, only three of the sheets remain. One of the extant sections, drawn by Penni, shows the dense massing of the figures in the battle scene, and the patterns of light/dark contrasts within the arrangement.
