Celebrations of everyday life and a detachment from an architectural context became prominent features of Italian Baroque fountains and garden sculpture. They occasionally impinged on urban life. Pietro Tacca's twin fountains with marine monsters in Piazza Santissima Annunziata brought elements of Giambologna's fountain style to the centre of Florence in the 1620s.
