Saint-Pierre, Moissac

According to the inscription, the cloister of Moissac was completed in 1100. It is the first one in which biblical stories and other scenes appear on the capitals. There are ten marble reliefs on the corner pillars, and 88 capitals, making it the largest decorated Romanesque cloister to have survived.

The picture shows one of the capitals in the cloister.
