The picture shows a folio from the illuminated manuscript called Lambeth Bible. Its English illuminator must also have worked in Flanders.
English 12th-century manuscripts of the highest quality were produced in monastic scriptoria such as Canterbury, Winchester, Bury St. Edmunds and St Albans. There are clear stylistic links with Spain, Sicily and - in the case of the illumination of the Lambeth Bible - Flanders.
