This snuff-box, adorned on the inside of the lid with the portraits of Louis XV and Marie Leszczynska in miniature under crystal, was supplied by Daniel Govaers (1717-c. 1754, known as Gouers) to the Foreign Affairs department as a diplomatic gift. The two royal effigies inside the lid are attributed to Jean-Baptiste Macé (1682-1767).
