The lid of the box features a miniature under glass representing the bedroom of the duc de Choiseul in his hôtel in Paris. The miniature, executed c. 1700, is attributed to one of the members of the renowned Blarenberghe family of Flemish-born miniaturists. The box is attributed to Alexandre Leferre (before 1806-after 1838).
