The vase is of oval section, moulded with a Greek-key border on the bleu nouveau ground separated by gilt trellis panels, the fluted neck applied with gilt swags tied with ribbons and grisaille profile medaillons, the gilt metal mounted cover with gilt metal ball knop.

This shape was introduced in 1763, named vase à médaillons. It was subsequently named vase grec à médaillons.
