MARKÓ, Hungarian family of painters

Hungarian family of artists. Károly Markó the Elder moved in 1832 from Hungary to Italy, where he spent most of the rest of his career. The rest of his family followed in 1838, and his three sons were all active in Italy, although Károly Markó the Younger eventually settled in Moscow, András Markó worked primarily in Vienna and Ferenc Markó settled in Hungary.
