Mythological paintings
by REMBRANDT

The young Rembrandt was influenced by his teacher Pieter Lastman. As a history painter Rembrandt concentrated mainly on biblical stories, but later he painted mythological subjects, too, which showed his sense of high-pitched drama and expressive chiaroscuro.
