I was searhing for Isenheim-alter-piece an was thrilled to see how well and serious (yet understandable) your textinformation was - and it was wonderfull to be able to see all the fantastic detail-fotos too. Its a great supplement to books and I will recomend your site to my fellow student. Thank you for making it possible to get so great an experience at the net!! Greetings from Trine

Hello and good afternoon, You have one of the most important art source in the web, as it joins good texts, art and music in a cool design! I'm a radio producer for fine arts in Portugal and your site really means a lot to me and my job, when I need to get some specific information on art and history or when I'm simply doing a search to a personal project on arts. Congratulations for your attempt to open the doors of the sacred museums around the world and let art enter our daily life.

What a magnificent website! I have thoroughly enjoying looking at the paintings and listening to the music, and I have bookmarked this as my "Favorite." I was particularly interested in finding the self-portrait of Rembrandt studied by Dr. Carlos H. Espinel of Washington, C.D. who determined that Rembrandt suffered with "Temporal Arteritis." Since I am presently undergoing treatment for this, and it's quite rare, I took a special interest in this portrait. Maybe my art work will improve now! Thanks again for a great place to spend some time.

I am glad to have found this site. I am doing a project for my church , researching pictures of the crucifixion spanning the millenia. I am very grateful for your information, and the indexing etc. That I could access music too was a great added bonus. Beyond this I personnaly am enjoying the wonderful images from all over the world. This is what the internet can do for art - exposure is so important. I do wish there were more information about the the symbolism and significance in the individual works. I also wish you covered 20th century art also.

ONCE UPON A TIME (by MST) Cause of naughtiness, students from elementary school punished by their Teacher to out of class. But after that the Teacher feel compassion & give 10 tests. So the student who can pass all 10 tests can go back to the class. But nobody can pass all 10 test & go back to the class. The Teacher feel compassion again & ask His Son to go to students to offering the answer to them. So student who trust with the answer offered can go back to the class. Some student believe with the answer. Some student not trust & still try to find the answer by it's self. Some student not trust & believe with the answers from other student Questions : 1. Why student who believe with the answer can go back to the class ? without any effort ? 2. Why student who try to pass all test by it self, can't go back to the class ? 3. Why student who believe with the answer from other student, can't go back to the class ? 4. Is the Teacher fair ? 5. How many student can pass all 10 test by it's self ? 6. If there was, why the Teacher have to ask His Son to go to student ? 7. If there wasn't, why the students still try to found the answer by it's self or believe with answer from other student ?

IS THE CHURCH DEAD? Q-1. What kind of question is that? Many people still attend church each week. A. Yes it is true that there are still many churches with many people in attendance; but a church’s spiritual life is not based upon numbers in attendance, it is based solely upon its faithfulness towards the Bible. God has warned the New Testament congregations that the light of truth will be removed if they do not keep His commandments: … repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Revelation 2:5) Q-2. I know the church is not perfect, but I don’t think it is dead. Why would you say the church is dead? A. You are correct that the church has never been perfect, and God tolerated the disobedience of the corporate church for quite some time. But the time has come that God’s longsuffering patience with the church is over and His judgment has begun upon the churches: And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not… Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. (Revelation 2:21,22) For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God…(1 Peter 4:17) Q-3. The “great tribulation”? Isn’t that supposed to be a horrible time of blood letting? Are we in the great tribulation? A. Yes. However, the character of the great tribulation is not one of physical violence; but the character of the great tribulation is that of spiritual unfaithfulness in the churches and congregations of the world towards the Word of God. The churches of our day (all denominations: whether Catholic or Protestant) have fallen away tremendously from the truths of the Bible. For then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be… For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:21,24) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2 Thessalonians 2:3) Q-4. Who is the “man of sin”? I have heard that he will be a great political ruler. Fore more Bible-information, please visit the Website from the E-Bible Fellewship Thank you, www.ebiblefellowship.com

Me (urban planner & landscape architect) and my boyfriend (stained glass designer) we are teaching 1-4 year students of university degree in Design, Glass and Architecture main disciplines of colour, composition and 3d design + VR design in Lithania. Even though we are working as designors/presentators in the Netherlands, our free time back home in Lithuania, we teach students in presentation & architectural film design. I wonder what kind of contribution if that woud be possible for us to participate in, could we bring in at your university. It could be a matter to make possibility of showing itself fully contained, absolutely interesting and equal approach based to most fields architectural development. Here in europe architecture has it's own repeating and old thinking patterns, it doesn't bring anything special anymore, everyone is content, but no new happy and interesting endings. What we wonder is the new and never-thought-of ideas. It is stil possible in the very origin based countries, that are ready for the wake up call and in new-&-still-original architecture stile of new society, and most surely it could be the Nigeria, and why not. Shortly about myself and my boyfriend - we are Lithuanian originally, educated in the Netherlands. We participate in different scale architectural development, while my boyfriend is stained glass designer - this field is almost dead in europe, but yes - it has it's very modern possibilities, they also have to be shown and this is also a part of possible development and approacht o architecture, especially when noone expects it to be born. To tell you the truth, lately we see no future for the new architecture, it is more based on repeted paterns of archituctural reproduction and so there is no future for interpretation. Me & my boyfriend are willing to find an environment and new architectural forms, where we coud benefit for the society. Therefore more alternative, original, sustainable way and very reviving would be with it's true valuesand the strength the young local and very special. Please, let us know if there would be any interest in your university for some positive thinkers, still trusting the happiness and freedom for all especially for the ones, that never give up in the beauty of notyetborn. This website is good for kids to learn about famous artists in the old days. I liked this site too. I like Michelangalo very much. I am studying him. We have these tests after the teacher reads the book about the person we study for that week. We can bring in boigraphy about that person or books or something like that. So this site is a very good one I love it.

I am looking for the artist Montanes who painted "The Acrobats". There is a hyphen over the "n" and ther "e" in his name. I do not know the age of the painting. It's oil on wood. OR if you know of this artist. I believe he is Spanish and there might have been two. One in the 1600's and one in 1965? Ihave no idea. I want a print of this painting. I came upon your site quite by accident as I was searching for information about the Bronze Doors of the Florence, Italy Duomo Baptistry. I was born and raised in Augsburg where I during my entire childhood admired the paintings of Hans Holbein dreaming that some day I might come close to painting his way. Although I now reside in America I still return to my home town often and always repeat the many stops I have made to enjoy an original work. It is with great humbleness that I call myself a portrait painter and with even greater humbleness do continue to study the wonderful works of Hans Holbein the Younger and Elder. If there is anyone out there who ever plans to visit my wonderful hometown of Augsburg let me know, maybe I'll be there the same time and it would be my pleasure to tell you about special places where you can see his work. I am currently researching an old family plate print and found, from your site, it is Angels Worshiping (left side of Chapel) 1459-1460. The family folklore has it as a wedding gift to my great......grandparents near the end of the civil war. He was a captain (chaplin) on the losing side, she a native of Tennesse. We have been told it is an 1860-1865 Italian plate print. However the colors are not near as bright as I have seen on this site.

This is easily the finest art site I have found anywhere on the web. The only possible improvement would be the extension of the collection to include painting from 1850 into at least the mid-20th Century. I don't think I'm the only one who would gladly pay a reasonable fee for access to such a collection if the size and clarity of the images were comparable to what is available here.

This is a wonderful site. I suffered a severe stroke 3 years ago and have just purchased a computer. I have been interested in art for most of my life and this site will be definitely one of my favourites .
