Catalogue numbers: F 1658, JH 256. This is the first lithograph of van Gogh on which he started to work in November 1882. It is based on a drawing he had made in September. The model was Adrianus Zuyderland, an inhabitant of the Home for Dutch Protestant Pensioners. Zuyderland appears in many of van Gogh's drawings and lithographs from this period. There are four known impressions of this lithograph. |
