Madonna of Humility with Two Angels

1375-80
Tempera on panel, 72 x 41 cm
Private collection

Until 1936, this panel was attributed to Jacopo di Cione. Its iconography is typical of the traditional Madonna dell'umiltà, in which the Madonna sits modestly on a cushion, laying emphasis on the humility of her character.
