This painting, like many of the artist's works, shows the influence of Masaccio, Masolino and Fra Angelico. Music-making angels are characteristic of Francesco d'Antonio's works and they also appear on his organ shutters of 1429 from Orsanmichele, now in the Accademia in Florence.
