GIOVANNI FRANCESCO DA RIMINI
(b. ca. 1420, Rimini, d. ca. 1470, Bologna)
St Philip; St Paulc. 1460
Egg tempera on panel, 94 x 31 cm; 95 x 33 cm
These paintings were certainly at one time part of a larger altarpiece with the panels, now cropped, originally shaped as Gothic arches. They have been dated to the years when the artist was active in Bologna and are among the artist's most monumental creations.
