Crucifixion

1430-35
Tempera on wood, 29 x 42 cm
Lindenau-Museum, Altenburg

This Crucifixion constituted the central panel of a predella, of which three other panels were identified: the Road to the Calvary (Museum of Art, Philadelphia), Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane (Pinacoteca Vaticana, Rome), and Lamentation over the Dead Christ (Pinacoteca Vaticana, Rome). The fifth element of the predella is missing. The upper registers of the altarpiece are not known.
