In 1533, Dirk Tybis, then 33 and originally from Duisburg, was resident in London: we are told this on a piece of paper on the left on the table, which according to the inscription is in his own hand. The merchant's trademark is inscribed between his first and family names. The letter Tybis points to with his right index finger is addressed to him, and his initials appear also on the third document.
