Kobell's appealing, sunny landscapes are crystal clear, motionless immortalisations of the area around Munich. In this View of Lake Tegern the elimination of anything that is not essential is remarkable, as is the artificial compilation of typical local elements. This is an almost schematic, Biedermeier world, clean and sunlit.
