Portuguese Rococo reached its zenith in the last school with the Portuguese architect Manuel Francisco Lisboa (active 1728-1767) and - even more - with his son, Antonio Francisco Lisboa (called Aleijadinho), born in Brazil. In Brazil the style from the home country gave rise to new forms in Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio, and Belém (Pará), and resulted in the school of Minas Gerais. The greatest artist of this school was Aleijadinho. He, the Italian Serpotta and the Austrian Feuchtmayr were the greatest Rococo sculptors.
