While best known for his paintings of voluptuous female nudes, Pignoni also completed many religious works; the altarpiece "St. Louis Providing a Banquet for the Poor" for the Guicciardini Chapel in S. Felicita, Florence, is perhaps the notable example and was his last public commission.
