Peter Vischer was a member of a German family of sculptors. From 1453 through a century this family had in Nuremberg the biggest bronze casting workshop in Germany. Peter the Younger executed many allegoric and mythological figures showing the influence of the Italian Renaissance. He made also several traditional monuments like that of Frederick the Wise.
