This panel once formed part of a polyptych together with three other figures of saints that are dispersed today between the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid (St John the Baptist), and the Gemäldegalerie, Berlin (St Louis of Toulouse and St Mary Magdalene). All four figures were originally full-length.
