This drawing is a copy of a painting by Paolo Veronese.

Federico Zuccaro visited Venice in 1563 and during his stay copied a number of Veronese's paintings. The drawn copies, in which he made a freely adapted version of the originals, served the painter as a reminder (memoria), and were once part of a sketchbook.
