Common of Saints
The Common of Saints (Latin: commune sanctorum) is a collection of liturgical texts, prayers, and scripture readings used in Christian worship for categories of saints rather than a specific individual. Instead of a unique text for every single feast day, the church provides generalised templates for groups of holy figures, such as Apostles, Martyrs, Pastors, Doctors of the Church, and Virgins. These sections contain collects (short prayers), psalms, specific scriptural readings, and prefaces.
