Sursum corda ("lift up your hearts")
During the mass, the priest or minister chants, "Sursum corda," and the congregation responds, "Habemus ad Dominum" ("We lift them up to the Lord"). It marks the start of the Preface to the Eucharistic Prayer, calling worshippers to turn their minds and spirits toward God.
