This vase, one of the first created at the Vincennes factory, is adorned with a lapis-lazuli blue ground obtained in 1752 to imitate China porcelain. Its decoration derives from the production of the rival Meissen factory, both in the use of flowers in semi-relief on the sides and in the execution of the cartouche painted in miniature in the manner of Watteau.
