Albarello

c. 1545
Maiolica
Musée des Beaux-Arts, Rouen

The shape and the brightly coloured enamels of this albarello (pharmacy jar) evoke Faenzan pottery.

Abaquesne presence in Rouen is documented from 1526, in 1545 he received an enormous commission for 310 dozen pots and trivets from a Rouen apothecary, Pierre Dubosc.
