The Waiter is an anthropomorphic assembly of objects related to winemaking such as a cash tap, a ceramic ewer, a leather bound glass, a chianti flask, an awl, a tasting cup, a gradual dipstick, a pewter and a wooden wine-funnel and a hotte.

This composition was commissioned by the Emperor Maximilian II for Augustus, Elector of Saxony.
