Saint-Augustin was built between in an eclectic style combining Tuscan Gothic and Romanesque elements. The structure was one of the first sizable buildings in Paris constructed around a metal frame. The façade features a frieze by François Jouffroy (1806-1882) depicting Jesus and the twelve apostles above the four evangelists.
