Manuscript (Ms. français 13091)
Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris

Beauneveu was a sculptor, painter and miniaturist, one of the most important French artists of the period. Only a few of his works survived. Since 1364 he worked for King Charles V and was commissioned for four funeral monuments in the Abbey of St Denis in Saint-Denis. Later he went to England and Flanders. From 1386 until his death he worked for Prince of Berry.

The miniature shown here represents St Philip on a page from the Psalter of the Duc de Berry.
