Dormition of the Virgin

c. 1450
Leadpoint on parchment, 425 x 285 mm

The picture shows a page from the notebooks of Jacopo Bellini. In this drawing representing the display of the Virgin Mary's corpse, Bellini constructs an expansive urban space in which all diagonal lines merge toward a single vanishing point at the eye level of the figures within the drawing.
