The painting depicts a view of the Forum Romanum with the Arch of Constantine and the Arch of Titus beyond. Busiri produced the same view in a pen and ink drawing and also in a tempera painting. Busiri is primarily known for his temperas, the present view is one of the few existing oil paintings by him.
