Georges de Scudéry (1601-1667) was a French novelist, dramatist and poet. He wrote an octosyllabic poem titled 'Le cabinet de M. de Scudéry (Paris, 1646), which contained a list of celebrities with flattering epithets. The frontispiece of this publication was engraved by Chauveau.
