This painting, from the Duomo of Codigoro, had never been analysed thoroughly, partly because of its poor condition. Today, all the stylistic qualities of the painter from Ferrara can be recognized, from the typology and composition to the imposing, forceful presence of the two young saints, full of dynamic energy. The same is true of the colours, where the choice, the modulation and the combination of tones is perfectly characteristic, as is the delightful glimmering of the luminous landscape in the background, painted with consummate ease.
