The vase was manufactured by Linthorpe Art Pottery, a British company that operated between 1878 and 1890 in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. It produced art pottery and is especially known for the early collaboration of the designer Christopher Dresser; many of the early wares have his impressed signature.
