The plate displays the arms of Cardinal Duprat, Chancelier de France (1463-1535). The model of the represented scene is a composition of Raphael for the Vatican, diffused through a print by Marcantonio Raimondi. On the left the young David is about to behead the giant Goliath, struck to the ground, while the army of the Philistines takes flight.
