No unanimity of opinion has been reached regarding this print, which is without a monogram. The conception is not unworthy of Dürer, but the composition is lacking in concentration and swing. Single figures with a great deal of movement are balanced one against the other. Pollaiolo and Mantegna were the chief influences for this work. Some critics suppose it is a copy after Dürer, others attribute it to Schäufelein or Wechtlin.
