This château was built in 1654 probably to Faydherbe's plan. In the lively rhythm of the outlines of the central element on the main façade and the ringed pillars framing the main entrance, the style of the Mechelen master can be recognized. The monumental character of the main façade is further accentuated by the pilasters running up over two storeys. Yet the Baroque appearance of the chateau camouflages and architecture which in its actual structure retains a traditional character, as may be seen from the presence of the corner towers.
