Stucco
Unsere Liebe Frau, Birnau

This Station of the Cross is one of eight surviving from an original fourteen attributed to Feichtmayer and his collaborators, Johann Georg and Franz Anton Durr. The finest among his works are the stalls, confessionals, and reliefs of the life of St. Benedict at St. Gall, and these Stations, which are the most vigorous of all in style. Trained among stucco-workers at Wessobrunn, he became a typical representative of the Bavarian Rococo and achieved an international reputation.
