Holy Family with Zacharias and the Infant John the Baptist

His early works are heavily influenced by Andrea Mantegna and he often had recourse to the latter's compositions for his own, whilst his later works show the influence of Giovanni Bellini, particularly in his use of a colourful Venetian palette. As a pupil of Bellini, he became one of the leading followers of the Bellini School.

The iconography of the present panel corresponds to the half-figure 'Sacra Conversazione' representations popular in the circle of Giovanni Bellini.
