Villa Crivelli, Castellazzo

In the patrician villa in the outskirts of Milan, the frescoes in all public rooms were executed by the Galliari family of painters consisting of a figure painter (figurista), a perspective painter (quadraturista) and a landscapist (paessaggista). The Galliari brothers were careful to sign their work, recommending themselves to other patrons.

The picture shows the painted decoration with Fall of Phaethon.
