The Villa Sacchetti al Pignetto was designed by Pietro da Cortona. In his plan he included staircases and terraces, porticos and niches, water features and grottos, in extraordinarily theatrical combinations.
The villa was one of Cortona's first design. We can only reconstruct the villa from prints, paintings, plans, and scant architectural ruins left.
